Is a burrito a sandwich? Is there such a thing as an ideal diet or a perfectly cooked steak? Are Christians morally permitted to eat a diet that harms plants, animals, ecosystems, and themselves? How can scientific research and data inform the decisions we make about eating sustainably? Everyone eats several times a day, and most people have lots of questions concerning our food and food systems. But few people take the time to think hard about what food is, what it is for, and how we ought to enjoy it. This course offers an introductions to the discipline of philosophy by way of the topic of food and informed by scientific research and data.
