Intensive readings of selections from Plato's Republic--one of the most important works of philosophy ever written, touching on major themes in Plato's thought: moral education, the place of the arts in society, how to define the good life, how to organize society, and metaphysics. Prerequisite: GREK 201 or competency. Course is offered occasionally.
