Catalog description

This course gives exposure to the entire biomedical design process from problem definition to prototype validation. The course is organized like a biomedical engineering company, with projects sponsored by real clients from research labs and local industry partners. This semester comprises the following biomedical design components: Problem Definition, Concept Generation and Evaluation, Detailed Design, FDA Approval and Clinical Trials, Validation, Project Management, and Technical Communication. Prerequisite: ENGR 271 and ENGR 313 . Lecture and Laboratory. Additional course fee required: $105.
