Catalog description

This in-country immersive course explores selected topics in Chinese language and culture, offering students an in-depth understanding of China's key cultural and social norm, as well as its regional diversity. Through a combination of language instruction, cultural immersion, and fieldwork, students will gain first-hand experience of Chinese life. Topics vary each term but may include traditional Chinese customs, modern societal changes, media, arts, and regional studies. The course emphasizes experiential learning and participatory observation, integrating academic study with real-world experiences. Prior Chinese language experience is encouraged but not required. Offered in China only. Pre or Corequisite: CHIN 334 .
