Examines the historical context in which the Bible (including both the Hebrew Bible, Old Testament, and the New Testament) was written, the various types of literature found in the Bible and the important impact of the Bible on the Western cultural traditi on. Some attention will be given to the questions of the Bible’s relevance in addressing contemporary ethical issues.
