Catalog description
This course traces our long-standing relationship with domesticated pets. Research indicates that companion animals serve various important functions in the lives of humans including; increasing psychological and physical health, the teaching of responsibility and social skills in children, provide service to those with disabilities, work with first responders to save lives and decrease loneliness in older adults. This class will also focus on the impact that the death of a companion pet has on an individual or family members.
