Catalog description

Introduction to the Pilates method of body conditioning. Pilates principles of breath, concentration, control centering, precision and flow/rhythm will be practiced while performing a learned series of preparatory and beginning level mat exercises. Exercises focus on postural awareness, proper use of breathing, stabilizing the core and increasing muscular strength and flexibility. Exercise modifications are provided to work at individualized levels. May be repeated for up to 6 credits.
