Occupational Therapy Practice with Adults and Rehabilitation

This course explores the role of occupational therapy in adult rehabilitation, focusing on evidenced-based assessment and intervention strategies to enhance occupational performance and participation. The process will include identifying goals, addressing functional limitations, planning individualized interventions using a variety of theory-based treatment techniques, clinical reasoning, reimbursement, documentation, and discharge planning. Topics include physical, cognitive and psychosocial challenges that impact adults following injury, illness, or disability. A wide variety of cases and conditions will be presented in lecture and lab to allow the student to develop entry level competency in this area of practice.
