Introduction to Healthcare Administration

Catalog description

This 4-credit course introduces students to the full scope of responsibilities and required knowledge and skills associated with healthcare administrator positions. Students will be given a broad overview of finance, human resources, risk assessment, crisis management, compliance, internal and external audits, quality assessment/control, performance review and improvement, legal issues, and ethical concerns. Special attention will be focused on healthcare disparities and serving a diverse and aging population. May be repeated one time for credit.
