Catalog description

Course introduces principles of sedimentary geology essential for students intending to enter careers involving Earth resource exploration, hazard mitigation, environmental science, and others. Course explores the description and interpretation of sedimentary lithology, textures and structures, primarily at the thin section, hand sample and outcrop scale; the principles of transport/depositional processes; techniques of sedimentary analysis. Four hours of lecture and active learning. Required field trips when possible.
