Catalog description

This course explores mental health through both self-understanding and community context, with a focus on Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing experiences. The course begins with foundational concepts such as nervous system regulation and neurodiversity, then expands to examine mental health systems, access, privilege, and cultural considerations. Students will apply this knowledge to better understand mental health within the Deaf community. Learning emphasizes reflection, creativity, and real-world application rather than traditional textbook-based discussion boards.
