What Are Health Disparities? The prevalence and incidence of disease varies according to biological and social categories. Yet not all differences in prevalence and incidence of disease are a health disparity. This course will introduce students to the foundational theories of health disparity and the social determinants of health. Learners will then identify those disparities and social determinants that fall within the scope of the practice of medicine.
