What is Disease? The practice of medicine is supposed to be the practice of preventing and treating disease. But whether a condition counts as a disease depends on some set of factors related to evolution, function, well-being, and social attitudes, among others. This course will survey the most common theories of disease and integrate these theories into the contemporary practice of medicine.
