Catalog description

Independent study allows the student to explore a topic of interest that is not offered within the WMed system and is closely supervised by a faculty member. Students are requested to utilize selected topics when the subject falls within one of our existing departments. This course may be taken after completing the first core clerkship. Students completing an independent study may earn up to 8 credits (one credit is equivalent to not less than 45 hours of work for the academic activity). Students are responsible for identifying the faculty preceptor who must approve the completed elective proposal prior to submitting to year4scheduling.
