This 4-week rotation will begin with four days of preparation including lectures and simulations in Kalamazoo. One afternoon will be dedicated to packing supplies. The second week will take place in remote underserved areas of Palawan together with the local healthcare providers. This is a resource limited area. Prior ultrasound training is useful. Participants should consider taking the September-October POCUS elective but this is not required. The third and fourth weeks are based in government teaching hospitals in and around Manila including the national children's hospital and regional center for infectious diseases. This will offer clinical experience under the supervision of designated local attending physicians and specialists.
