Catalog description

Teaching in Middle School prepares students to effectively teach in middle school environments by exploring key roles and responsibilities of middle level educators. The course focuses on understanding and applying ethical standards, creating inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments, and utilizing family and community engagement to support diverse learners. Teaching in Middle School examines how to leverage technology and community resources to enhance teaching practices and foster collaboration. Through the analysis of teacher evaluation feedback and reflective practice, Teaching in Middle School provides strategies for continuous professional growth. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to create supportive, developmentally appropriate, and engaging middle school classrooms that promote academic, social, and emotional growth in learners.
