Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the concepts, theories and history of sport psychology. The course will cover interdisciplinary studies such as general, social, and developmental psychology, as well as leadership and exercise physiology. The subject will enhance students’ understanding of psychological effects on sport behavior and the effect of sport behavior on an individual’s psychology. Students will learn about skills training, motivation, personality, stress and anxiety, team dynamics, leadership, youth development, mental processes and burnout, among other things, in bringing awareness to important issues within sport psychology. Prerequisites: BUS 300; ORG 300 (or equivalent); LDR 300 (or equivalent); SCI 225 (or equivalent)
