Catalog description

This course introduces the structure and function of the medical care delivery system, including basic concepts and measures of health, disease, quality, values, needs and utilization; issues in healthcare manpower, institutions and system organization; general issues in policy reimbursement and regulation; broad community, and organizational considerations in medical care organizations. The student is introduced to the principles of epidemiology and environmental health and demonstrates the application of epidemiology concepts to planning for the health care service needs of a population.
