Catalog description

This doctoral-level course builds on prior knowledge of quantitative research design and analysis, focusing on the application of complex statistical techniques to address sophisticated research questions in doctoral-level studies. Students will deepen their understanding of multivariate analysis, including steps needed to prepare data prior to model estimation, model building exercises, and assessing validity and reliability. Emphasis is placed on selecting appropriate methodologies, handling real-world data challenges (e.g., missing data, outliers, assumption violations), and interpreting results with precision. Students will use statistical software to conduct advanced analyses such as multiple regression, ANOVA/MANOVA, factor analysis, and time series data modeling. By the end of the course, each student will have a preliminary design for their dissertation research.
