This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to strategically integrate cloud technologies into organizational frameworks. Students will explore the critical role of enterprise cloud strategies, examining why they are essential and how to design and implement them effectively. Through case studies and practical exercises, students will evaluate the key components of a successful cloud strategy and address its alignment with business objectives. The course culminates in the development and presentation of a comprehensive enterprise cloud strategy tailored to a specific business application, preparing students to lead cloud initiatives in complex organizational settings. CLD 806 Containerization and Microservices (3 Credits) This course explores containerization technologies and microservices architecture as the foundation of scalable cloud-native applications. Students will learn to design, deploy, and manage container-based systems using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh frameworks. Emphasis is placed on modular design, CI/CD integration, orchestration, and operational resilience. The course prepares students to architect cloud systems that support rapid innovation, fault tolerance, and agile delivery in enterprise environments. CLD 807 Scalable Data Analysis and Visualization (3 Credits) This course focuses on the processing, analysis, and visualization of large datasets in cloud environments. Students will explore tools and platforms for scalable analytics, including serverless computing, distributed processing, and interactive data visualization frameworks. Through practical application, students will design end-to-end analytics pipelines and develop visual dashboards that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders, driving evidence-based decision-making. CLD 809 Cloud Automation and Orchestration (3 Credits) This course covers the principles and practices of automating and orchestrating cloud infrastructure and services. Students will gain expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC), workflow automation, and the use of tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and cloud-native services (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager). The course emphasizes creating efficient, secure, and reproducible cloud environments that support continuous delivery, cost optimization, and governance. CLD 810 Edge Computing and Artificial Intelligence (3 Credits) This course examines the intersection of edge computing and artificial intelligence, focusing on deploying intelligent systems at the network's edge to support low-latency, real-time processing. Topics include edge architecture, IoT integration, and optimizing AI models for resource-constrained environments. Students will explore use cases in smart infrastructure, autonomous systems, and distributed analytics, gaining skills to design scalable, decentralized solutions that enhance performance and responsiveness in modern IT ecosystems.
