Catalog description

In this course, COTE graduate students present solutions to industry problems through the planned development, construction, implementation, and management of an information technology project. Learning outcomes from all previous program courses are presented in a pragmatic and value-added manner with. The course culminates in a final written project-based plan and presentation. The purpose of the project is to specifically address a business-related technology issue, provide business justification, research and evaluate potential solutions, make a recommendation based on determined decision criteria, and design and plan the implementation of the new solution. The instructor for this course serves as a mentor and consultant in the creation, development, implementation, and management of the project plan. The solution developed by the capstone student must demonstrate mastery of program learning outcomes, course learning outcomes, and is presented in a final PowerPoint presentation.
