PR: SOCA 232 and (SOCA 234 or CJ 101 ). Critically examines how mass media and popular culture depict crime and deviance, and explores how these depictions influence social policies. Focuses especially on portrayals involving race, gender, class and ethnicity in particular historical contexts.
