Catalog description

PR: SOC 101 or Consent. The course will focus on patterns of wealth, prestige, and power in American society. The contemporary configuration of class will be analyzed in the light of historical patterns as well as future developments. The impact of class status on the individual and psychological patterns of class behavior will be studied. Philosophic arguments regarding the ethics of inequality will be considered.
