PR: CHEM 115 and MATH 156 and PR or CONC: MAE 243 and MAE 252L . This course introduces Materials Science and Engineering for Mechanical Engineering undergraduates, focusing on predicting material properties based on microstructure. Topics include material microstructures, defects, processing, mechanical properties, heat treatment, deformation behavior, fracture mechanics, fatigue, creep, corrosion, and material selection for design.
