PR: Corequisite of FNRS 413L . This course introduces the chemistry of forest biomaterials and their conversion into sustainable products. Students explore cellulose, lignin, extractives, and emerging biomaterials such as nanocellulose and lignin-based polymers. Emphasis is placed on how forest resources are transformed through biorefining and material synthesis into innovative materials for the modern bioeconomy.
