PR: ( MATH 151 or MATH 156 ) with a minimum grade of C-. This course introduces the properties, performance, selection, and construction applications of common materials used in the built environment, including concrete, steel, masonry, wood, asphalt, and emerging sustainable materials. Topics include material specifications, production processes, durability, quality assurance and control (QA/QC), sustainability considerations, and how material characteristics influence construction methods and basic structural behavior.
