Catalog description

Prerequisite: Placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process or completion of a course taught at or above the level of intermediate algebra. This course is an introduction to the fundamental principles of chemistry and includes atomic theory, chemical bonding, molecular structure, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, gas laws, liquids and solids, acids and bases, equilibrium, energy, and solution chemistry. The course stresses problem solving and is designed specifically to prepare the student for Chemistry 001A.
