Cultural Diversity & Health Disparities in Public Health

Catalog description

This course will define culture, discover the intersection of culture with health concerns, identify global and domestic efforts beneficial to understanding the cultural processes, investigate research methods useful in identifying relationships contrasting culture and health. The course will provide an "in depth" examination of three major health concerns regarding cultural factors and implications; HIV/AIDS, youth violence, and obesity.
