Physician Assistant Profession

Catalog description

Introduces the profession of Physician Assistant, including its history, development, and current practice. The role of the PA across all aspects of medicine will be discussed with an emphasis on optimal team practice and lifelong professional development. Provides an overview of critical professional and clinical issues, such as licensing, credentialing, continued medical education, patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, medical ethics, insurance, legal liabilities, and personal wellness including prevention of impairment and burnout. This is a blended course.
