Catalog description

This course is designed to assist the nurse practitioner student in developing professional identity, clinical readiness, and other core APRN competencies. After introducing the students to the role, scope, and regulations of APRNs, they will learn how to access and utilize peer-reviewed and evidence-based guidelines and standards of care, develop and coordinate interdisciplinary care, and synthesize prior knowledge and skills to develop clinical readiness in psychiatric mental health care. The course will include a mandatory on-site immersion.
