Catalog description

Students engage in intensive study and practice of the writing process for academic writing. The course focuses on five basic steps of the writing process: brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revising, and editing. Student writing is assessed based on the quality of content, organization, style/language, grammar, and documentation. The course utilizes reading, discussion, and personal insight to increase students' capacity to write simple paragraphs and formal research papers. APA style and library usage/research is required.
