In this course, students explore the effects of health literacy on understanding basic health information and influencing healthcare decision-making. Students identify health literacy levels, encourage understanding of health literacy principles, and create instructional materials to promote health literacy for individuals, families, and communities. Students create a professional portfolio highlighting academic and practice experiences to demonstrate meeting program competencies.
