Catalog description

Apply concepts of disaster preparedness and response to manage patients involved in mass causality incidents, with an emphasis on maintaining the integrity of pharmaceutical distribution systems at a local, regional, national, and international level. Introduces the elements of emergency management followed by a deeper look at disasters that may result in state and federal level activation. The respective agencies, resources, and role of the pharmacist in prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery of various disasters will enable students to integrate the knowledge from the principles of emergency management to develop rational recommendations when presented with a scenario.
