Advanced Geriatric

Catalog description

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to offer comprehensive services related to geriatric care with application and advanced discussion of fundamental concepts in aging. The course will also provide the opportunity to explore issues related to drug therapy and to learn advanced skills in the pharmaceutical care of the elderly population in a variety of practice settings. The course will be taught using an on-site active learning, case-based discussion and lecture approach wherein students will integrate concepts involved in designing comprehensive medication management and counseling for geriatric patients.
