Catalog description

Provides foundational information to develop an understanding of pharmacogenomics and biotechnology. The genetic basis of variability in drug response can contribute to drug efficacy, toxicity, adverse reactions, and drug-drug interactions. This course will explain how the individual genetic information can be used to tailor drugs to patients. The students will discuss of the rationale for biotechnology-driven products, the main methods used to deliver and target biological drugs, biotechnology product handling, storage, and administration.
