Catalog description

Provides understanding of the principles of pharmacology and toxicology that underlie the principles of pharmaceutical treatment and management of disease. The course will evaluate how molecular drug mechanisms, principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, drug-receptor interactions, and drug toxicity contribute to overall therapeutic, unwanted and toxic drug effects. The foundations of pathophysiology and pharmacology of the autonomic and central nervous system, including molecular mechanism of action, clinical indications, and class-specific adverse effects will also be introduced.
