Catalog description

Promotes critical thinking in the application of basic mathematical methods in solving problems in pharmacy practice. Emphasis is placed on logical analysis to solving pharmaceutical calculations and calculation of medication dosages and compounding quantities. It includes interpreting calculation problems encountered in the preparation of medication in all pharmacy practice settings. Topics include ratio and percentages, dose calculations, reducing and enlarging formulas, dilution and concentration, aliquots, specific gravity and density, flow rates and clinical calculations.
