Catalog description
Introduces basic principles of community pharmacy practice, foundation of self-care therapeutics, cultural competence and patient-centered care. Basic concepts of law, ethics, Medicare Part D, and patient assessment skills are introduced to develop a foundation for students before entering Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs). Students are also introduced to the theories and principles of interpersonal communication in health care and complete the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Program.
