Catalog description

Provides direct patient care clinical experiences with manifestations of common conditions and diseases and chronic illness., under the supervision of a clinical preceptor, specific to the practice of pediatrics The emphasis is on providing preventive, acute, and chronic care for initial and ongoing treatment of infant, child, and adolescent patients including but not limited to common illnesses of childhood, congenital and acquired processes, normal and pathological developmental achievements and psychosocial issues. Clinical experiences may take place in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Course delivery methods for teaching and learning include hands-on clinical experiences with direct patient care and preceptor/clinician formative feedback.
