Catalog description

Illustrates the application of evidence-based clinical medicine and PA professional practice via simulated encounters with patients suffering comorbidity, from presentation to management to documentation of patient care. Incorporates knowledge and skills gained in holistic medicine, holistic medicine lab, anatomy & physiology, and professionalism in medicine courses to comprehensive person-centered patient evaluation and management. Completing person-centered patient interviews, generating differential diagnoses, determining appropriate diagnostic workups, and all aspects of patient management are emphasized. Educational delivery is based on organ systems covered in the course. Course delivery methods for teaching and learning include problem-based and team-based learning accompanied by digital lectures, case application studies, and journal club assignments.
