Hand Therapy Elective

Catalog description

This course enables students to broaden and deepen their knowledge and expertise in the specialty occupational therapy practice area that is upper extremity and hand rehabilitation. Students will demonstrate advanced knowledge, clinical reasoning, and practice skills necessary to develop and implement an evidence-based plan-of-care to improve occupational performance for patients with complex upper treatment injuries/conditions. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the Biomechanical Frame of Reference (FOR) as it applies to evaluation, assessment and intervention in this practice setting.
