Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to global concepts in social justice. The course will use a global human rights framework and utilize a strengths perspective to analyze current and past issues. Students can expect to learn the basics of international human rights policy as well as domestic US policies that impact us in the global setting. The course will challenge some norms of US socialization and education when reviewing our positionality in the global context. Learning will happen largely through the use of case studies from within and outside the US.
