Catalog description

This course introduces students to psychological assessment, including a focus on refining referral questions, appropriate test selection, administration, scoring, interpretation, and communication (written and oral formats). Additionally, the course will cover general concepts relevant to test evaluation (e.g. psychometrics, reliability, validity, consideration of client demographic factors), and will emphasize the application of therapeutic assessment (TA) for the assessment process (e.g. rationale, empirical support, contrasting TA from other assessment approaches, etc).
