Catalog description

This 189-hour precepted clinical practicum is the first of four practicum courses and provides students with opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge and develop advanced clinical skills in comprehensive psychiatric-mental healthcare across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapeutic intervention, and psychopharmacologic management within diverse populations and settings. Students will engage in interprofessional collaboration, ethical decision-making, and reflective practice to promote recovery-oriented, person-centered care. Clinical experiences may focus on any age group across the lifespan, depending on the student’s clinical placement and learning needs.
