Catalog description

This course will expose students to historical, current, and emerging health issues experienced by the gender and sexual minority (GSM) populations. This course is rooted in the minority stress approach to health promotion problems amongst the gender and sexual minorities. The course is designed to foster an informed and reasoned openness to, and understanding of, difference. Introduction to health promotion activities, advocacy, prevention, and community health resources are emphasized. This course is open to all majors.
