Drum Set Essentials for the Music Educator

Catalog description

This course introduces performance and practice techniques to teachers without experience on drum set. Students will learn about and experience technique, styles (including rock, jazz, big band, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban), improvisation, reading, repertoire, and drum set equipment. Supplied with sticks, tracks, and books on the first day of class, each student will sit at their own professional acoustic, electronic, or pad drum set that includes all cymbals and hardware.
