The sport management internship field experience is designed to provide the graduate student with an opportunity to perform management duties as assigned by a practicing administrator while under supervision. These experiences may take a variety of forms. The internship allows the graduate student to profit from the experience and expertise of a professional mentor and participate in the workings of a sports industry environment. The internship is viewed as a very important segment of the curriculum and is individually designed to meet the personal and professional needs of the students as well as the placement site. The intern will be required to maintain a standard of conduct that would exemplify the intent of the organization. Internships are to encompass 135 hours, at a minimum.
