Study Abroad in Interdisciplinary Studies

This elective study abroad experiential course focuses on global cultural appreciation and social justice topics pertaining to regions of the world. Using a systematic approach, this course examines the cultural, artistic, architectural, and culinary contributions of the various peoples who have inhabited diverse regions of the world. It requires students to attend weekly class meetings in preparation for the international spring break trip. Upon return from the study abroad experience, students will provide a comprehensive summary of their learning experiences. Students will be evaluated on their progressive development of oral communication skills. In collaboration with the Office of Global Engagement at West Chester University, the study abroad course will focus on a different region of the world to visit each spring semester and study culture and the implications of a social justice topic in that area.
