Catalog description

This course is designed to provide Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification students with the foundational knowledge needed for teaching a fitness education curriculum in K-12 public schools. In this course, students will a) engage in a developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessments, b) experience best instructional practices, and c) utilize pedagogical content knowledge to plan and implement teaching different segments within a fitness education lesson. Activities will include fitness movements and games. The goal of this course is to provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills for the implementation of a quality fitness education course and or lesson(s).
