Strategies for Secondary Education

Catalog description

This course is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge needed for teaching a secondary physical education curriculum in K-12 public schools. In this course, students will a) engage in a developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessments, b) experience best instructional practices, and c) utilize pedagogical content knowledge to plan and implement teaching different segments within a secondary physical education lesson. Activities will include invasion, net/wall, striking/fielding and lifetime (dance II, golf) activities & games. The goal of this course is to provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills for the implementation of a quality secondary physical education course and/or lesson(s).
